One of our favorite things about ArtWeek is the connections it creates between artists and art-lovers. Looking for a personal experience with the arts? Check out a few of these events with the multi-talented artists of Massachusetts!

Art Stop(s) - Springfield Cultural Partnership

Art Stop(s) in Downtown Springfield- This event, presented by the Springfield Cultural Partnership, gives artists the opportunity for community engagement and artistic exposure with a spotlight on local talent – Springfield

Artist Talk and Demonstration with Cape Cod Artist Carl Lopes at Creative Hands Gallery– Carl Lopes, known for his airbrushed acrylics, holographic papers, and glass beads, will demonstrate his studio techniques and discuss his unique artwork –eAR Osterville

Artists Q&A with Coffee at Marion Art Center- Local artists Michael Pietragalla (woodworking), Hollis Engley (ceramics), and Craig Coggeshall (painting) will discuss their works in an exhibition and answer your questions. Additionally, Hollis Engley will give a brief demonstration of throwing pottery on a potter’s wheel – Marion 

Beadmaking and Beyond at Beth Williams Studio- Catch a dynamic flameworking demonstration and help design the pieces being made before your eyes by artist Beth Williams – Gloucester

Colours by Nature, a Colour Talk at The Drawing Room- This presentation with wallpaper designer Jess Ritchie and color consultant Holly Timpson of Farrow & Ball will explore the new collection, its natural inspiration, and how to manipulate space with color – New Bedford

Edward Hopper’s Footsteps at The Art of David Arsenault Gallery- Come for a digital presentation, displayed artwork, and talkback with artist David Arsenault that will explore the legacy of Edward Hopper in Arsenault’s current work – Rockport

Face to Face at Medway Public Library- Artist Kim Blenkhorn, known for her portraiture of remarkable individuals throughout history, will give a talk and demonstration. Supplies will be available so anyone can give it a try – Medway

Gallery Opening at Mimi’s Art Gallery and Studio- Come for an opening reception talk by Mimi Schlichter for the new Breezeway Gallery at Mimi’s Art! – Falmouth

Lighting your Home (and your Art) at The Drawing Room- Join us for a presentation by lighting designer Evelyn Audet who will share her many years of experience on the aspects of light and how good lighting design can transform your home – New Bedford

MAC Art Ramble at the Marion Art Center- A chance to visit artists working in their studios, learn about the creative process, see unique spaces where art-making occurs, and even catch a few demonstrations – Marion 

Artist Carl Lopes - Creative Hands Gallery

Made to Order Tile with Wanderlust Ceramics at The Drawing Room- Learn how to design a custom backsplash as artist Craig Crawford demonstrates the tile making process from original concept to installation. Bring your ideas to discuss how to make them into tile – New Bedford

Martha’s Vineyard Meet The Artisan at Nobnocket Boutique Inn- Meet local Martha’s Vineyard artists and artisans, see their work, and learn about their artistic process – Vineyard Haven

Needham Open Studios at Gorse Mill Studios- Take a self-guided tour into the studios with new and returning award-winning artists. Savor a weekend of imagination and inspiration while talking with, listening to, and watching live demonstrations by participating artists – Needham 

Meet the Artists Q&A with Coffee - Marion Art Center

Open Studio at Chloe Leigh Designs Handcrafted Fine Jewelry- Watch Chloe at work– each of her pieces are individually made by hand using a variety of hammers, anvils, hand tools, and torches. Stop by to learn about the process of silversmithing and the tools used to create fine jewelry – Gloucester 

Printmaking Demonstration at Zea Mays Printmaking- Come witness the magic of printmaking. Watch an original etching printed on an old-fashioned printing press and learn about the beauty of original prints – Florence

Remixing Imagination with Artist Sallie Strand at Canvas Fine Arts Gallery- Join in the fun at First Friday SoWa for a special ArtWeek artist talk with Sallie Strand – Boston

Sculpture at the Frog Pond at Boston Common- Sculptor Alan Kaplan, in conjunction with The Boston Skating Club, will present his sculpture throughout ArtWeek, and will also be available for a public discussion of his artistic method and medium – Boston

Sculpture & Art Prints: A Private Collection Art Talk at Sculpted Culture Studio- Join us for a viewing and discussion of the private collection of fine art prints, led by our master sculptor and art educator Gregory Steinsieck – Newton Corner

Spring Open Art Studios at Howard Street Studios- Eight painters from different genres will open their studios to the public to share new work and give discussions and demonstrations about their creative process – Framingham

Transformative Sculpted Apparel at The Drawing Room- Meet artist Janice Kissinger, whose beautifully sculpted dresses and scarves are made by carefully working fine merino wool into hand-dyed and vintage Indian silks – New Bedford

Westfield State University Student Art Show & Tour at the Arno Maris Gallery- New and exciting student work will be displayed from the University’s Bachelor of Arts programs in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Animation, and Illustration at this artist reception and private tour of the Arno Maris Gallery – Westfield

400 Years of Eastham Exhibition Opening with artist Q&A at Eastham Painters Guild- This special art exhibit by the Eastham Painters Guild will highlight the history of Eastham with the artists on hand to explain the creative process in researching and creating each painting – Eastham
