A Spectrum of Ideas
May 1, 2015 at 6:00 pm–7:00 pm
Embracing the broad spectrum of ideas and materials that defines contemporary art, the Senior Thesis show of Fine Arts students at the New England School of Art and Design/Suffolk University will be open to the public on May 1 between 5 and 7pm with a special talk at 6pm. Painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, video, photography, performance and interactive installations are used to explore themes of identity, personal mythology, perception and representation. While they incorporate a wide variety of media, all ten artists participating in the exhibition embody a spirit of experimentation, personal reflection and a disciplined attention to craft. This is a culmination of years of development and pushing limits of what is possible for these graduates, who collectively are creating exciting and ambitious work.
At 6:00pm artists Elle DioGuardi, Philip Frechette, James Helenski, Taylor MacKinnon, Rachel Ranese and Alyse Stuck will give an overview of their work.
