Being ArtsAmica by H. White
May 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm–4:00 pm
ArtsAmica was founded in 1996 by L. Holliey White after a trip to Cuba. She met a number of artists while there. They entrusted her with their art to bring back to America. She had no idea if she was returning; however, the artists had a feeling she would. She has represented many artists over the years. Such artists as Bonachea, Maria Conseulo, Continno, Augusta Rojas and so many others. These are award-winning artists known around the world yet often not known in America. Through Holliey and ArtsAmica this is changing. This talk is a rare chance to hear of her adventures and learn about a different culture from someone who has lived in it.
This will be a small exhibit with a talk and a Q&A to follow. See Cuban art and learn about the artists and country behind it. Long before it was hip and trendy, Holliey embarked on an adventure that would change the lives of the artists that she works with and hers.
