Catch the final week of the critically acclaimed imaginary beasts’ production of ‘Betty Bam!’, appropriate for ages 13 and up. Join us for a special talkback following the Friday, May 1st performance with dramaturg Matthew McMahan. Reflecting Kharms’ writing experiment, the beasts have put this project into the hands of not one but three directors who will each bring their unique flavor to the project.

Artistic Director Matthew Woods (IRNE Nominee for direction, Knock! and Hairy Tales) will helm the production, joined by long-time collaborators onstage and off, Joey C. Pelletier and Michael Underhill (IRNE nomination for direction, Hairy Tales).

Following their exploration of Kharms’ micro-prose with last Fall’s critically acclaimed KNOCK! (nominated for 7 IRNE’s, including Best Play), the beasts push ever further into the psyche of one of Stalinist Russia’s lost voices with BETTY BAM!. Working from an original translation by Zoya Derevyannich, the ensemble will present never-before-seen adaptation of the piece.
