Boston AIR: Resilience and Racial Equity

May 5 at 1:00 pm3:00 pm

Boston AIR Artist Space 786 Dudley Street Dorchester, MA 02125
Free

Join Boston AIR in exploring ways artists and other community members can influence policy, envision and initiate tangible change in our communities. As the first public event for this year’s Boston AIR cohort, attendees have an opportunity to get involved and share their thoughts regarding local community issues and City policies.

Since January, seven socially engaged Boston artists have been researching City policies and practices related to topics such as climate change and aging, through a lens of resilience and racial equity. As artists in residence with the City, these artists have one year to work with community members and City officials on civic practice art projects to reframe social conversations and search for ways to incorporate art into government.  Through their processes, artists aim to impact policies and systems and provide communities with more pathways to become active in shaping and understanding the policies that influence them.

Beginning at 1 this event will include an opportunity to mingle with the artists, short presentations, an artist panel.
