Chou’s Paint/Plaster Prints
September 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm–3:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 2:00pm on Sunday, repeating until October 4, 2015
Taiwan artist Chou Yu-Chen is young and extremely talented. She combines ancient and modern techniques to create award-winning detailed prints. Yu-Chen is a graduate of the National Kaohsiung University of the arts in Taiwan. Her work has been shown in a 2014 exhibit at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Taiwan. Yu-Chen is currently an artist-in-residence at The Quarry, a beautiful almost 13-acre art center in Acton, MA. For ArtWeek, join us for a talk and tour of the Quarry on September 27.
The Quarry is the site of the Contemporary Arts International, a non-profit with a mission to promote arts through arts education, exhibition, and international symposium. It was founded by Yin Peet, a sculptor originally from Taiwan, and Viktor Lois, an internationally known sculptor from Hungary. Together they have created a bucolic mecca of sculpture, nature, and artistic advancement.
Paint/Plaster Prints by Chou-Yu-Chen is an opportunity to witness the work of a master of ancient and modern print-making techniques. Chou-Yu’s work is unique, detailed, and riveting. Any visit to The Quarry is a full experience of art, nature, and creativity at its most elemental level. Artist Anthony Flackett will talk on Oct. 4.
