City Heart is an annual art show and sale in Boston, MA featuring local homeless and low-income artists. City Heart began in the spring of 2011 and is now in its fifth year. The show was founded because there was a wealth of wonderful art created by local homeless and low-income individuals but a lack of opportunity to share it with the community.
In 2014, City Heart exhibited over 800 pieces of work from 70 artists. These artists create work at local shelters including the Cambridge Women’s Center, Common Art, New England Center for Homeless Veterans, St. Francis House, Pine Street Inn, and Women’s Lunch Place.
City Heart Founder and Director Liz Powers will speak at 11:30 AM on Saturday, May 2. Everyone will meet in the Huntington Arcade in the Prudential Center. Free and open to the public. All ages welcome.
