Connecting Art and Environment
May 7, 2016 at 12:00 pm–9:30 pm
Appearances Eco Arts Festival, now in its 6th year, showcases artists’ works that connect with the environment. The festival is open to all artists including individual artists, artists working as a team, and artists collaborating with scientists in Provincetown, MA at the tip of Cape Cod. The Trustees of the Reservation’s Dunes Edge Campground will again host the outdoor installations and sculpture with a guided art tour on Saturday at noon. A complete program of galleries and events – all free to the public – will be posted on our Facebook page in mid April. In addition, we are excited to have another Lauren Ewing installation in the center of town. This is her third illuminated “wave maze” and the waves will be nine feet high. Visitors are encouraged to walk the maze. There will also be a bach debris installation outside the CCS Gallery. At 7:00 p.m. at SeaSpace Gallery (335R Commercial Street) there will be a presentation on the damaging effects of plastic degradation on marine life.
