Custom Clay Talisman Workshop

October 1, 2016 at 3:00 pm6:00 pm

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly 70 St. Botolph Street, First Floor Common Area Boston, MA 02116 United States

Ancient cultures used beads for decoration, money and talismans: objects marked with symbols that give the wearer supernatural powers and protection. In this workshop, participants will discuss symbols across various cultures and have the opportunity to create custom polymer clay talismans based upon their identities, experiences and desired effects.

Participants will have the space to make their own beaded jewelry/adornments based on their specific identity and the physical products will be empowering. This workshop is accessible and open to people ages 10-100–the intergenerational aspect is important as it will take place in an elder/disabled home.

This workshop is limited to 20 participants. To register, please email artifactseveryday@gmail.comThis is a free event, but donations to cover the costs of supplies is greatly appreciated.
