As the divisions between art, science, and technology become increasingly blurred, the interactions at the bleeding-edge of these disciplines produce more innovation and disruption than ever before. To extend these capabilities and inspire new advances in the creative industries, MIT Sloan’s Entertainment, Media & Sports Club presents Hacking Arts. Held at MIT’s Media Lab, Hacking Arts is a festival and hackathon bringing together musicians, artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and engineers to design and explore technology-based ventures in arts and entertainment.
The two day festival includes panel discussions featuring some of the top thought leaders in music, film, fashion, virtual reality, and the visual arts; as well as an exhibition of technologies that impact and showcase the creative process. These conversations inform and inspire industry practitioners and hackathon participants who take an idea and transform it into a tangible innovation in a creative industry over the course of the weekend.
Hacking Arts is opening up the hackathon presentations and judging to the public Sunday afternoon 3:00PM – 6:00PM
The hackathon begins at 4:30 Saturday, September 26 and runs until presentations and judging Sunday afternoon.
