Hardware Peyote Stitch

Are you ready to move beyond straight strung beaded jewelry? Are you interested in incorporating materials other than beads in your jewelry? Or just come by and see how one jewelry makers creates a jewelry out of an every day object. At this event, you will learn the basics of the peyote stitch using hex nuts to create a supple band that could become a bracelet or necklace.
Celia Lee will be demonstrating how to use a basic peyote stitch with stainless steel hex nuts. Included in the demonstration will be a discussion of tools, different stringing materials, and various clasps.
About West Medford Studios: Started in 2000, West Medford Open Studios (WMOS) is an annual two-day arts festival located in West Medford, MA. West Medford has a vibrant and established arts community and over seventy artists participate in WMOS every year. Local artists open their personal work studios to the public; visiting artists show their work in local host homes and community buildings. Among our participating artists we have painters, photographers, sculptors, writers, jewelers, and musicians. Free events include food tastings, pottery throwing demonstrations, readings, and live music performances.
