Harmony & Hope: Responding to Violence with Music

Riverview Chamber Players, in partnership with the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry, present the Second Annual Harmony & Hope: Responding to Violence with Music.

In May 2016, Riverview Chamber Players presented the First Annual Harmony & Hope featuring twelve hours of live classical chamber music concerts as a healing response to the increasing violence in our nation. This year we are presenting a two-hour performance with string quartet and gospel choir, interwoven with spoken word.

Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound… This song, along with other gospel songs sung by the New England Gospel Ensemble, and string quartet music by Claude Debussy and Amy Beach, will be part of the sweet sounds of Harmony & Hope.  This concert is designed to help ease the pain in our hearts, to remember the love of those who have been killed, and give hope for a future without violence.

The sanctuary will be adorned with art work created by a variety of community groups in pre-concert workshops around the issue of violence. There will be a reception following the concert along with resource tables hosted by organizations in the Greater Boston area working to end gun violence and support families who have lost loved ones to violence.

$10 suggested donation at the door.  No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.  All donations at the door will go to support Legacy Lives On and Operation Lipstick.
