May 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm8:00 pm

Improvisation of Hymnal Jazz 133 Walnut Street Brookline, MA 02445 United States

Improvisation is an invisible art form of Jazz. Berklee H&J Quintet will represent their arranged hymnal Jazz and original jazz piece with five members of the band; drums, flute, piano, and guitars.

Special for ArtWeek, flutist Hanna Kim will give a brief talk about her improvisation and her inspiration for her original tune “Prayer for Boston” which was composed during the Boston Marathon Bombing as a tribute to the people who were affected by this tragedy. Her band will play this tune with a beautiful improvisation based on the tune that Hanna Kim composed. Her band also will play the hymnal jazz that was arranged by Hanna Kim.
