Keeping Jazz Alive on Cape Cod

ArtWeek Event – Jazz Stroll kicks off with “Keeping Jazz Alive On Cape Cod.” Bart Weisman will give a talk on history, current scene and music education. Bart is a drummer, director of Provincetown Jazz Festival and mentor of CJazz at the Cape Conservatory.

JazzFest Falmouth is a ten-day celebration of this great and unique American art form. Six events include a headliner concert by three-time Grammy nominee Denise Donatelli, a concert by regional favorites Toni Lynn Washington with Frank Wilkins, a concert by composer, pianist NPR host and a favorite at New York’s 92nd Street “Y” Jon Weber, a recital and talk by Steinway Artist Robert Wyatt on Louis Armstrong –“ Satchmo” and a Guitar brunch with Emmy winners Goodis and Glenn on Sunday. The Jazz Stroll on Friday night, is a free gambol through shops, restaurants and galleries along Main Street from 6 to 10 PM to hear the sounds of 13 of the best local and regional Jazz duos, trios and quartets. So, sit back and listen to Swing, Brazilian, Classic, American Songbook, fusion Jazz and Blues at your leisure.
