Lecture on Rachmaninoff’s Vespers

Scholar of Russian and Eurpoean history and art Anna Winestein will offer a free lecture about Sergei Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil, widely considered the composer’s crowning achievement. Winestein is Director of the Ballet Russes Arts Initiative, a former Fulbright Scholar, and an historian of the arts and cultural exchange of early modern Europe. The lecture will take place at Trinity Church in Copley Square at 6:30 pm, and will be followed by a performance of the All-Night Vigil at 7:30 pm by the Trinity Choirs. Join us as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of one of
the masterpieces of modern sacred music.
Tickets for the concert are $10 and $30.
No registration is required for the lecture.
