“Look, Ma, No Lines!” Pencil Drawing Demo
May 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm–3:00 pm
Traditional pencil drawings use lines to delineate objects in space. But sometimes, those lines create hard boundaries or edges where there are none in real life. Shading is another common technique that does the opposite. It can soften edges so much that the characteristics of the medium disappear. A technique of pencil drawing will be shown that embraces the stroke of the pencil, while avoiding definitive line work.
In its 27th year, Saxonville Open Studios invites the public to enter their studios to view art and creative process. Finished work, works in progress, and demos will be on display.
