Low Art Tiles – History, Artistry with Complimentary Libations!
October 1, 2016 at 3:00 pm–5:00 pm
Enjoy complimentary refreshments, beer and wine in the unique event venue, Circa at Restoration Resources in Boston’s South End as Richard Pennington, the author of “Low Art Tile – John Gardner Low and the artists of Boston’s Gilded Age” takes you through a pictorial history and presentation on the Low Art Tile Company. The Boston-based tile company was one of the most successful makers of artistic ceramic products (fireplace tile surrounds, cast iron stoves, soda fountains) in American history and was in operation from 1878 until 1904. Some of these beautiful tiles and pieces have been salvaged from interesting buildings throughout the Boston area and are now on display and for sale in the 7000 sq. ft. showroom and warehouse at Restoration Resources, a two time recipient of Boston Magazine’s, “Best of Boston Home, and regarded as “New England’s Premiere source for Antique Architectural Salvage, Vintage Furnishings, and Unique artifacts”.
Parking: Metered and free on street parking available. Closest T stop is Mass Ave. on the Orange line, or the bus at Dudley station or the Silverline bus which stops on Washington Street, just a block from Restoration Resources.
ArtWeek Exclusive: All Artweek attendees will receive a 10% discount on all store merchandise including gifts and souvenirs throughout Artweek.
