Mothers Day Concert of Bach and Zelenka
May 10, 2015 at 3:00 pm–5:00 pm
Spend Mother’s Day with Cantata Singers! Hear music by J.S. Bach, the composer who inspired Cantata Singers to be founded, alongside works by our newest musical muse, Czech Baroque composer Jan Dismas Zelenka. J.S. Bach’s beloved Magnificat in D is paired with the Boston premiere of Zelenka’s jubilant Te Deum in D.
For ArtWeek, we will open the free pre-concert talk and post-concert reception up to the public. Pre-concert talk will be given by Dr. Christoph Wolff, Professor of Music at Harvard University and Director of the Bach Archive in Leipzig, at 2pm in Williams Hall. Following the performance, all are welcome at a free post-concert reception in Williams Hall.
Single tickets to the concert can be purchased online at www.cantatasingers.org or by calling (617) 868-5885. Receive a 30% discount on all ticket levels, ranging in price from $25-$69 before the discount, by entering the code “artweek”.
