Music in Motion Performance and Talk Back
May 5, 2015 at 7:30 pm–9:30 pm
An event every day that begins at 7:30pm, repeating until May 6, 2015
Travel back in time with Satie’s comical “Things Seen Left and Right (without Glasses),” Berberian’s graphically-notated “Stripsody” (complete with tarzan yells) and Stockhausen’s outrageous “Wings of the Nose Dance.” Finish the evening with a glimpse into the future of music with two premieres – One using robotic instruments (!) and another by our youngest composer to date (the 15-year-old Benjamin Perry Wenzelberg). The evening also features a pre-show one-act comic mystery-opera, “The Cellist is Dead” (7:30 PM) prior to the start of Music in Motion (8 PM). For ArtWeek, the May 5 performance will be followed by an audience talk-back, while performers will be accessible during both evenings.
May 5 and 6, running time 2 hours. Limited number of table seats for each performance purchased online with code ARTWEEK are $10. Standard: $20 / $10 students.
