My Superhero, Roberto Clemente
May 6, 2016 at 7:00 pm–9:00 pm
My Superhero, Roberto Clemente, a play about the life and legacy of the legendary baseball player. The play is bilingual, English and Spanish, and offers a universal lesson. The play is geared towards children of all ages, with every child taking away a different message about the superheroes they may have in their own life. “[Teatro] SEA believes our children need heroes, and the extraordinary man who became a legend was admired as much on the field, as off. Clemente, a right fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1955-1972), was one of the most beloved figures in the history of the MLB. He was the first Latino to win a World Series as a rookie (1960.) He also won the MVP Award (1966) and the World Series MVP Award (1971.) He finished his career with over 3,000 hits and 12 Golden Glove Awards.”
Following the performance, there will be an interactive talk with the actors. The talk will be centered on what audience members saw, learned, their perceptions, questions, and how the play relates to their life and their own superheroes.
Tickets are $15 for Adults and $10 for Children under 12 years old.
