Robert Wyatt talks on Satchmo

Steinway artist Robert Wyatt has been a lecture/recitalist for the Smithsonian Institution for 20 years and is one of the nation’s foremost experts on George Gershwin. His talk on Louis Armstrong, “Satchmo,” will honor the man who pioneered the solo performance, used his voice as an instrument and created scat.
JazzFest Falmouth is a ten-day celebration of this great and unique American art form. Six events include a headliner concert by three-time Grammy nominee Denise Donatelli, a concert by regional favorites Toni Lynn Washington with Frank Wilkins, a concert by composer, pianist NPR host and a favorite at New York’s 92nd Street “Y” Jon Weber and a Guitar brunch with Emmy winners Goodis and Glenn on Sunday. The Jazz Stroll on Friday night, is a free gambol through shops, restaurants and galleries along Main Street from 6 to 10 PM to hear the sounds of 13 of the best local and regional Jazz duos, trios and quartets. So, sit back and listen to Swing, Brazilian, Classic, American Songbook, fusion Jazz and Blues at your leisure.
