The Edward M. Kennedy Institute welcomes visitors to contribute to participatory artwork collaboratively designed by Artists For Humanity’s teen artists and mentors. Together we can make a bold, colorful statement that amplifies our voices in our communities and beyond.
Speak Up! Art is Action at the EMK Institute invites artists to share and celebrate a spectrum of political voices in a variety of mediums. We hope to inspire political empathy, understanding, and calls to action, truly turning our building over to the people. The week will also feature a spoken word exhibition of young voices in our full-scale representation of the U.S. Senate Chamber and a collaborative public art project to which all are invited to contribute. The events of the week will represent the different ways artists interpret issues important to them and to their communities within their chosen mediums.
The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate is dedicated to educating the public about the important role of the Senate in our government, encouraging participatory democracy, invigorating civil discourse, and inspiring the next generation of citizens and leaders to engage in the civic life of their communities.
*Please note on Sundays the Institute opens at 10:00 AM. Price for the event is free, but please check admission prices at https://www.emkinstitute.org/plan-your-visit/admissions. All Massachusetts Kids Under 17 are Free Admission.
