Speak Up! Art is Action – Poster Project

October 1, 2016 at 1:00 pm3:00 pm

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute 210 Morrissey Boulevard Boston, MA 02125 United States

This event is hosted by EMK Institute and ArtWeek in conjunction with HUBweek:

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute welcomes visitors of all ages to create their own political campaign posters. Have you ever thought about running for office? What would be your message to voters? What qualities do you admire in people in leadership. Transform your political voice into a campaign poster that expresses you ideals of leadership, and the issue that matter to you. Materials will be provided for visitors to create their own poster.  These posters will be on public display the week of our Count Us In! series event, Kid Convention on October 29th.

Speak Up! Art is Action at the EMK Institute invites artists to share and celebrate a spectrum of political voices in a variety of mediums. We hope to inspire political empathy, understanding, and calls to action, truly turning our building over to the people. The week will also feature a spoken word exhibition of young voices in our full-scale representation of the U.S. Senate Chamber and a collaborative public art project to which all are invited to contribute. The events of the week will represent the different ways artists interpret issues important to them and to their communities within their chosen mediums.

The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate is dedicated to educating the public about the important role of the Senate in our government, encouraging participatory democracy, invigorating civil discourse, and inspiring the next generation of citizens and leaders to engage in the civic life of their communities.

*Price for the event is free, but please check admission prices at All Massachusetts Kids Under 17 are Free Admission. Stay updated with all Kids and Families Events at the EMK Institute.
