The Gilded Age in Boston
October 5, 2016 at 7:00 pm–9:00 pm
Meet at the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum and walk back in time to the Gilded Age of Boston. Marvel at the historic steam engines within the birthplace of Boston’s water technology revolution. Among the first in the nation, this system changed the trajectory of Boston as a hub of innovation and design. The Waterworks welcomes author Skip Moskey to discuss his new book, “Larz and Isabela Anderson: Wealth and Celebrity in the Gilded Age.” Moskey will describe the era, the culture, and the personalities that defined the 1880’s to 1910’s.
Join us for ArtWeek, and dive into the history and personalities of this golden era! See and learn more about this fascinating historical moment in the midst of one of the Gilded Age’s most iconic buildings, the landmark Waterworks Museum.
The Waterworks Museum is a no admission museum, but welcomes contributions for this ticketed event. Tickets must be pre-purchased by September 27. Parking is limited onsite, but the museum is located in the Cleveland Circle neighborhood and is reachable by Green Line trains “C” and “D.”
