Words into Wax

Learn some simple techniques to transfer written work onto encaustic media using modern technology. This is a demonstration designed for artist-poets to be able to include a hand-written look in their pieces. It can also be used for text and drawings. Additionally, learn about the art of encaustic painting via video clip and talk with the artist, Darcy Schultz.
About West Medford Studios: Started in 2000, West Medford Open Studios (WMOS) is an annual two-day arts festival located in West Medford, MA. West Medford has a vibrant and established arts community and over seventy artists participate in WMOS every year. Local artists open their personal work studios to the public; visiting artists show their work in local host homes and community buildings. Among our participating artists we have painters, photographers, sculptors, writers, jewelers, and musicians. Free events include food tastings, pottery throwing demonstrations, readings, and live music performances. WMOS is one of the few walkable Boston-area open studios, with plenty of free parking and easy access to the commuter rail and bus lines. Saturday, April 29 and Sunday April 30, 12:00PM to 5:00PM.
